This is a modern handmade violin, 4/4, hand carved, high quality tone, strong and bright. It has the look of an old German violin to me. Spruce top with straight grain and lovely maple back, from one piece of wood, neck and ribs highly flamed. The wood materials are dried in the open air, the fingerboard is of ebony as is the pegs, tail piece and chin rest. I have fitted a very good quality bridge and set up the violin with tonica strings. These help to produce a good strong tone, even across the range and this violin is easy to play. It projects well and is very responsive, it has got that brightness about it which means that the sound will carry well.
