It is based on the Stradivari design, the tone is nicely balanced on all 4 strings and responsive. This viola is suitable for all players, has great projection and a rich warm tone that is even on all strings. Not all the varnish work is original and this is reflected in the price. I have fitted a high quality bridge and a set of very good synthetic core strings which help to enhance the rich, warm tone that this instrument is capable of producing. (listen to the sound clip).
