This is a very nice old German violin dating from around 1900. It is full size with a very nice two piece highly flamed back. All the varnish (dark Brown) is original (showing some wear on the top but not unusual for it's age). The scroll and ribs are also nicely striped on this violin. It is a good quality instrument and I have set it up with a high quality maple bridge and fitted good quality synthetic strings (Tonica) these help to bring out the rich and warm tone qualities that the instrument can produce. There is an ebony tail piece with four fine tuners for ease of tuning and the fingerboard is also of ebony. It plays well and has excellent projection, a very nice example. Have a listen to the sound clip. It comes with a good carbon fibre bow, some rosin and a shoulder rest, I will also include a light weight foam case (while stocks last) all of which are free of charge. Priced at £695.00 with £12.00 postage cost gives a total of £707.00 for this lovely violin which is in very nice condition for it's age.
